Many of you have asked, so I have put together a little blog about how I made the Wrapped pattern. Here you will find some tips and tricks and which fabrics I used for what parts of the pattern. I hope it helps you!
The wrapped pattern
The Wrapped pattern is a little tricky. It’s not the piecing that is tricky, it’s the organization of it so make sure that you label everything as you cut it out. This will help you tremendously.
Depending on which size you are making, you’ll need 14 or 21 different fabrics that you divide into 7 piles (7 different presents). Label each pile as Present 1 – 7 respectively. Then cut all fabrics in the Present 1 pile as directed in the Present 1 diagram. And so on and so on. The ribbons will be cut from the excess of those 7 FQs. Keep everything labeled so you don’t end up with a present that has the same print for the ribbon.
The fabrics
This pattern was written to go along with my Gingerbread Lane fabric line. The fabrics and the pattern design are meant to remind us of the traditions, chaos, and love of Christmas morning!
I made the larger version, so these are the 21 fabrics that I used for the presents in the Wrapped Pattern.
I also used the white-on-white fabric from this collection for the background- but you could just as easily use a solid white or cream. The Bella Solid that matches best is Pearl 9900 428.
Now I know a lot of you like to make these quilts exactly the same way that I do, so I’ll share the backing I used too. But don’t be afraid to think outside the box! If you can’t find the same print for the backing, you can always use the Cranberry Grunge.
